In October, Sarah McLachlan celebrated the 30th anniversary of her breakthrough third album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. She has also announced a huge celebration with a tour in 2024. From May 24 in Seattle to July 6 in Sugar Land, Texas, she will be traveling coast to coast. When she lands in Los Angeles, California for a show, she will be joined by special guest Feist.
“I think it’s interesting as an artist or as a human for that matter, to be able to go back and look at a postcard of a time in your life and reflect on it,” Sarah says. “I think this tour is going to be a real walk down memory lane for me, and I’m hoping that my audience, many of whom have been with me for 30 years, will also be able to go back in time with me.”
With more than 40 million albums sold globally, Sarah McLachlan is one of the most well-known singer-songwriters in the entertainment industry. Over her career, she has won twelve Juno Awards, three Grammy Awards, and been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Apart from her individual musical pursuits, she established the Lilith Fair tour, showcasing female musicians and uniting over two million people throughout its three-year duration. Lilith Fair was the most successful all-female music festival, helping start the careers of several musicians and raising over $7 million for regional and national charities. Sarah received the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Visionary Award for advancing women's careers in music after Lilith Fair.
She established the nonprofit Sarah McLachlan School of Music in 2002. The school offers free, top-notch music instruction and mentoring to kids and young adults who are suffering a variety of access challenges. For every ticket sold at her upcoming tour, she will donate $1 to the school - helping children who wish to pursue their dreams.
