The Godmother of Soul, Patti LaBelle will be the star honoree at this year’s Blue song Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Patti LaBelle is famous for such songs as “On My Own”, “Danny’s Song”, “You Are My Friend”, “It’s All Right”, “Jimmy Mac”, “The Best Is Yet To Come”, “I Can Fly”, “If You Ask Me To”, “Feel About You”, “Love Needs Care”, “Real Love”, “Bended knees”, “One of These Days”, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine”, “Gone”, “When in Daytime I Ponder How You Sleep At Night”, “The Language of Love”, “Just Around the Corner”

Blue note song Jazz Festival Patti LaBelle Brings Jazzy Vibes & More To Hollywood Bowl For A Blue Note Song Jazz Festival Sunday, June 14, 2026 Gates: 4pm | Music: 6pm

The weekend festival, dedicated to celebrating jazz, R&B and soul music and culture, will also feature Wyclef Jean, Gregory Porter, Samara Joy, Robert Glasper, Cimafunk, Kokoroko, Yussef Dayes, R+R=NOW, Terrace Martin, Chief Adjuah, Derrick Hodge with special guests including Justin Tyson and Taylor McFerrin, as well as the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance Ensemble at UCLA, the LAUSD Beyond the Bell All-City Jazz Big Band and the LA County High School for the Arts Band. TV host and actor, Arsenio Hall will host. More artists to be announced.

Patti LaBelle

Watch Patti LaBelle performing in her prime with all her biggest hits. An original member of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles (which would later change its name to Labelle), LaBelle launched a spectacular solo career in the 1980s. LaBelle performs some of her greatest hits including: "Lady Marmalade," "On My Own," "If Only You Knew," "New Attitude," and "Stir It Up" and some of her more recent music from her 2017 album Bel Hommage. LaBelle has won two Grammy Awards and has been nominated for another seven. LaBelle has also been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Wyclef Jean

Wyclef was one of the three main artists in the successful hip hop group the Fugees along with Lauryn Hill and Pras. Their music incorporated elements of hip hop, reggae and R&B. Some of Wyclef's solo hits include 'Gone till November', '911', 'Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)' and 'Hips don't Lie' which was a duet with Shakira. He released music in 2019 called 'Wyclef Goes Back to School, Vol. 1'. Wyclef is a 3 time Grammy winner and was nominated for a Golden Globe award. He has also produced music for artists such as Carlos Santana and Whitney Houston.

Gregory Porter

Gregory Porter is an American jazz vocalist, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has a soulful and powerful baritone voice. Whatever he sings always seems to evoke emotion. I first heard him sing Liquid Spirit, Holding On and also Hey Laura. His latest album ‘All Rise’ is a great example of how he has progressed as an artist. He won two Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2014 and 2017. 

Samara Joy

Young jazz singer Samara Joy to shine in performance Jazz vocalist Samara Joy, a rising young star in the jazz music world, will give her performance debut at the Jazz & Blues Series, complemented by the talents of pianist Andrew Ramsey and bassist Jason Brown. The talented emerging American jazz singer whose debut album “Love Won’t Let Me Down” received widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for 6 Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2023, will sing such songs as “stay with you Awhile”, “Tight” and “Guess Who I Saw Today” and more. Her second album “Portrait” is a wonderful representation of her amazing artistry.

Robert Glasper

Robert Glasper, an incredibly talented pianist, producer, songwriter and arranger who fuses together elements of jazz, R&B and hip-hop into his own distinct sound. We will look at some of his compositions from his Black Radio projects as well as some of his featured work on songs such as “These Walls” by Kendrick Lamar. He recently released “Keys to the City Volume One” which further showcases his growth as a composer. A 5 time Grammy winner and 1 time Emmy winner, he is one of the leading jazz musicians in the world. 

Cimafunk

This Afro-Cuban artist mixes funk, hip hop with traditional rhythms of Cuba and Afro-Caribbean music. Me Voy and Parar el Tiempo are both upbeat jams. Pa' Tu Cuerpa is his latest album that shows his artistic growth. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album in 2023. 

Kokoroko

We hear in great detail the noise intensity of London-based 7-piece jazz ensemble Kokoroko. Their music fuses together elements of jazz, Afrobeat, funk and highlife to create some incredible sounding tunes. The band are known for their playing of Abusey Junction and Carry Me Home, which can be found on their 2025 album release ‘Tuff Times Never Last’. Winners of the Best Group award at the Urban Music Awards 2015, the band have certainly made a name for themselves. 

Hollywood Bowl Overview

The Hollywood Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Located at 2301 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068, the Bowl, as it is commonly known, was opened in 1922 and is one of the most popular music venues in Southern California. Food and drink are available from several different vendors both inside and outside of the venue. The Bowl offers a variety of different seating options. Seating choices include bench seating, box seats, loge seats, and stadium seating. Some seats have handicap accessibility. The Bowl has the capacity to hold up to 17,500 people.
