Saturday, June 27th. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Show time is 7:30 PM. The Roots will bring their A Roots Picnic Experience to the Hollywood Bowl for the third year in a row. Nas, T.I., Bun B, De La Soul and many more will perform as this unique show brings together many decades of hip-hop in one massive show. 

The Roots

This legendary group, known for their live instrumentation and extended jam sessions, will be performing hits such as “You Got Me”, “The Seed (2.0)”, “What They Do” and the latest single “End Game”. The Roots are a multi-platinum, award-winning band that are currently serving as the house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They will be hosting their 3rd Annual A Roots Picnic Experience at the Hollywood Bowl.

Nas

With a multi platinum catalog Nas is considered one of the most influential rappers of our time. He has received multiple GRAMMY Awards and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary rapper recently dropped “Magic 3” and will be performing some of his hits such as “N.Y. State of Mind,” “If I Ruled the World,” and “One Mic.” His debut album “Illmatic” is a hip-hop classic and is widely considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time.

T.I.

T.I. The platinum-selling, Grammy nominated Atlanta native, known as the King of the South to his fans will bring his full catalog of hits to the Bowl. The crowd will surely sing along to hits like “What You Know”, “Live Your Life” (ft. Rihanna), and “Whatever You Like”. The 11-year veteran is maintaining his position as a relevant and respected figure in today’s hip hop scene with his recent projects.

Bun B

Legendary Houston-based rapper, and half of the groundbreaking UGK, (Underground Kingz), icon Bun B brings his real Southern Hip-Hop to The Hollywood Bowl for a memorable night of the highest level of music. Performing hits such as his classic single ‘International Players Anthem‘, as well as his contribution to the Wu-Tang Clan’s ‘Big Pimpin‘, the iconic wordsmith will bring the exact same level of passion, and highest level of energy.

De La Soul

De La Soul makes up the final major announcement to The Roots’ Hollywood Bowl show. As members of the Native Tongues collective, Pos, Dave and Maseo – aka De La Soul – are known for their ground-breaking, innovative and boundary-pushing hip-hop and their influence on the alternative hip-hop scene. And it’s not just their iconic and innovative sound that has made them a household name – their hair is also as legendary as their tracks ‘Me Myself and I’, ‘Stakes Is High’ and ‘Buddy’ to name but a few. The last De La Soul album, And the Anonymous Nobody… was released in 2016 and once again demonstrated the group’s creative growth over the years, and their GRAMMY win for Best New Artist in 1990 cemented their place as true hip-hop legends.

Hollywood Bowl Information

The Hollywood Bowl is a legendary, world-renowned, 17,500 person capacity, mostly outside amphitheater of excellent acoustics located in the Hollywood Hills at 2301 N. Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

The Hollywood Bowl has bench seating and boxes (suits many different sized groups) to reserve. There are also many food and beverage venues throughout the Hollywood Bowl, ranging from a hot dog stand to popcorn stand, to beer and wine, to the usual array of venue fare and also to several different types of street food venues.

The Hollywood Bowl offers wheelchair accessible seating, and information on all services can be obtained by contacting the venue at 323-850-2000.

Parking Information

Parking for staked events will be available in two of the venue’s lots A (Blue) and D (Yellow). Staked lot pricing will start at $45 and go up to $90 depending on the event and designated lots. The venue encourages patrons to utilize the venue’s Park & Ride lots and ride to the show, to drive and park yourself, or to use a ride sharing service. The venue is ADA accessible with parking available for patrons with disabilities and more information on parking and other services can be found by contacting the venue at 323-850-2000. Additionally, there are plenty of street parking options and private parking lots throughout the area that patrons can park in and then walk to the venue for the night.
